The memory alloy drive wire is a wire material with no less than 2%two-way memory effect or no less than 6%one-way memory effect,which is made by using the memory recovery characteristics of TiNi shape memory alloy,and can be electrically heated to achieve driving work.It is also called electrically contracted titanium wire or muscle wire.By energizing the shape memory alloy wire,the alloy wire will undergo phase transformation and its length will be shortened,so as to achieve the driving effect.By controlling the magnitude and time of the current loaded on the alloy wire,the contraction speed can be controlled. The energy density of memory alloy driving wire is 1000 times higher than that of human muscle and 4000 times higher than that of electromagnetic motor.Therefore,the shape memory alloy driving wire can be made into a device with small volume and weight but large driving force.Compared with electromagnetic motor,SMA motor made of shape memory alloy driving wire has the characteristics of small volume,low power consumption,fast response,quiet and long service life.

◆ Principle

When the driving wire of memory alloy changes its temperature under a certain load, the wire will shrink due to the phase transformation between martensite and austenite. Since the resistance value of the drive wire is high, the wire can be easily heated by energizing and heating. Therefore, as shown in the figure, on / off of the current can be used as the actuator drive.
